Jean Newbill

Jean Wieler Newbill passed away Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, early in her 72nd year, after a lengthy battle with liver disease.

Following a funeral at St. Rita Catholic Church, 5550 E. Lancaster Ave., Jean was laid to rest privately in the mausoleum in Greenwood Memorial Park.

Jean was born Aug. 29, 1940, in Muenster, to John J. and Susanne Walterscheid Wieler.  She graduated from Muenster High School, where she was a majorette, played in the concert band, was co-captain of the basketball team and was honored as homecoming queen.

Jean attended North Texas State, where she met and married her husband, Mike;  they recently celebrated their 52nd anniversary.  After a few years in Florida, they returned to Texas and made their home in Fort Worth.

Jean was active in several organizations, including the Junior Woman's Club.  She served as president of both the Jaycee Wives Club and Woodhaven Woman's Club.

Jean loved her job as a teacher's aide at Eastern Hills Elementary, but began another career as partner and office manager at Fort Worth Business Forms.  After the sale of the business, she retired to spoiling her grandchildren and enjoying various hobbies.
