Jean
Wieler Newbill passed away Saturday, Sept. 29,
2012, early in her 72nd year, after a lengthy
battle with liver disease.
Following a funeral at St.
Rita Catholic Church, 5550 E. Lancaster Ave.,
Jean was laid to rest privately in the mausoleum
in Greenwood Memorial Park.
Jean was born Aug. 29,
1940, in Muenster, to John J. and Susanne
Walterscheid Wieler. She graduated from
Muenster High School, where she was a majorette,
played in the concert band, was co-captain of
the basketball team and was honored as
homecoming queen.
Jean attended North Texas
State, where she met and married her husband,
Mike; they recently celebrated their 52nd
anniversary. After a few years in Florida,
they returned to Texas and made their home in
Fort Worth.
Jean was active in several
organizations, including the Junior Woman's
Club. She served as president of both the
Jaycee Wives Club and Woodhaven Woman's Club.
Jean loved her job as a
teacher's aide at Eastern Hills Elementary, but
began another career as partner and office
manager at Fort Worth Business Forms.
After the sale of the business, she retired to
spoiling her grandchildren and enjoying various
hobbies.

Survivors: In addition to
her husband, Mike, Jean is survived by her
daughters, Marci Newbill, Sheri Garbo and her
husband, Jack, and Carli Dyer;
grandchildren Kayci and Molly Garbo, and Rebecca
and David Dyer; sister Juanita Broome and her
husband John, of Springfield, Va., and several
nieces and nephews and their families.
