Bobby
Surratt, born August 20, 1935, entered into the
Kingdom of God peacefully at his home on
Saturday, May 3, 2008 with his loving wife and
best friend, Maureen, by his side. Bobby was a
life long resident of El Paso, Texas having
graduated from Austin High School. He attended
Texas Tech University and Baylor University.
Bobby owned and operated Valley Feed Mills, was
a founding Director of the Valley Bank of El
Paso, later called Montwood National Bank,
Director on the Farm Capital Credit Bank, and
also, currently served on the Horizon Regional
M.U.D. as Director. He was a member of the
Church of St. Clement. Bobby was preceded in
death by his parents; Howard and Lilly Surratt
who came from Corinth, Mississippi in the early
1930's and started farming in the Clint Valley,
where Bobby continued cotton farming. He is
survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Maureen
Surratt. Other survivors include his
grandchildren, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins,
brother-in-law, Wayne Ponce, sister-in-law,
Terry Ponce, mother-in-law, Mary Ponce and many
special friends. Funeral services celebrating
Bobby's life will be held Wednesday, May 7th at
11:00 AM at the Church of St. Clement followed
by interment at Memory Gardens, Santa Teresa,
NM. Pallbearers will be Robert Cave, Arlin
Maddox, Durwood Reynolds, Jerry Rogers, Bob Skov,
Bernarr Spence, Rusty Surratt, and Jesse
Whittenton. Honorary Pallbearers are Jim
Armstrong, Doug Brock, Gary Crossland, Charlie
Crowder, Tom Gougger, Resse Lutich, Noni Navar,
Bill Skov, and Dean Travis. In lieu of flowers,
memorials may be made to the Church of St.
Clement, 810 N. Cambell, El Paso, Texas 79901 or
Hospice of El Paso, 1750 Currie Drive, El Paso,
Texas 79902. Services entrusted to Martin
Funeral Home East.
