Juan V. Alejandro Lucero (Alex):

God saw that you were getting tired and a cure was not to be,
So He put his arms around you and whispered, "Come to Me."
With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away;
Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay
A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.

On Saturday morning, August 18, 2012, Alex went to be with his Lord at the age of 74. He was born on June 15, 1938 in Tucumcari, New Mexico, to J. Faustino Lucero and Graciana O Lucero.  Alex served in the U. S. Marines, and upon completion of his service, he returned to El Paso, where he worked as a heavy construction worker for 25 years.

Alex later worked for El Paso Community College before retiring.  He founded the dance group "The Senior Temptations."

Alex leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife, Guadalupe (Lupe), his two daughters Maria Lucero (husband Jeff Butts) and Irene Lucero (husband Mason Koenig), Carlos Navarro, 0, Jaime Navarro (Val Ormond), Patsy Lafarelle (Jerry), Diane McGlade (Barry), Gloria Garfield (Jim), 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, two nieces, a nephew, and many cousins.

A funeral mass was held Thursday, August 23, 2012 at St. Pius X Catholic Church.
